The Committee is made up of nine members. Chairman, Secretary, Treasurer, and Membership Co-ordinator. The other members are responsible for event co-ordination, fund raising and our quarterly newsletter and include two co-opted members who assist with matters arising. The Committee meets quarterly with the Annual General Meeting being held early October every year when the new Committee is voted in. Every plot holder has one vote (if you have two half plots, you still have one vote!) and can nominate in advance of the AGM, for a member to stand for election. This must be seconded by another plot holder. The Committee covers all aspects of the site and its management and all activities relating to the site. Plot holders are encouraged to assist the Committee with suggestions as to how the site can be improved etc. There is a Constitution in place which establishes principles and governance. Click on the link to understand why and how the Committee operates. The Committee also sets (and updates) the Rules & Regulations for plot holders.
Site Maintenance Team (SMT)The site maintenance team (SMT) are the ‘workforce’ that help keep the site in good order. They also organise work parties at various times through the year. Currently they are four members but might, from time to time, ask for volunteers to assist in larger projects that may arise. They are not there to help you dig your plot or weed etc. However, should any plot holder have difficulties due to illness, accident etc. and need help in any way, you can then contact the SMT.
